How a sale works
- 1
List
Your community rep lists every farmer's pigs in one lot: breed, how many and roughly how heavy.
- 2
Match
Processors post the price per kg they pay and the pigs they want. Your lot sees every offer it fits, best price first.
- 3
Inspect and weigh
The buyer's team comes to your community, checks the breed and weighs each pig. You see the weights.
- 4
Get paid
The buyer pays through Paystack before the pigs leave. Each farmer's share goes to their own account.

Questions
- Who sets the price?
- Buyers set a price per kg of live weight. Your rep sees every offer your pigs qualify for and picks the one that works for your community.
- What does FarmDirect charge?
- 5% of each completed sale. Farmers receive the other 95%, paid by Paystack straight to their accounts. Listing, offers and inspections are free.
- Who pays for transport?
- The buyer. They collect the pigs from your community after inspection.
- I'm a farmer. How do I start?
- Farmers sell through their community rep. If your community doesn't have one yet, one trusted farmer can register as the rep and list for everyone.
- How do farmers without a bank account get paid?
- Their rep can receive the money for them. Any sale paid this way is labelled, so the farmer can always see it.
- What if someone wastes our time?
- Every buyer and rep is checked by our team before they can trade, and buyers give their CAC number. Either side can report a bad inspection, and we suspend accounts that abuse it.
Your pigs are worth more than the farm-gate price.
Registration is free. Our team checks every account before it can trade.
