Terms of use

FarmDirect is an online marketplace operated by Pova Farms (RC 9321704), a company registered in Nigeria. It connects livestock farming communities with processors and bulk buyers. By creating an account you agree to these terms.

FarmDirect lists livestock, shows buyers' offers, records inspections and collects payment through Paystack. Each sale is between the buyer and the farmers whose animals are sold. We are not the owner, seller or buyer of any animal.

• Buyers and community representatives ("reps") must be approved by our team before trading.
• Buyers must give a valid CAC registration number. Reps must give their community's real location.
• You must keep your details accurate and your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
• We may refuse, suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or that we reasonably believe is misleading other users.

• A rep lists animals on behalf of farmers in their community and must have each farmer's permission to do so.
• Breed, count and estimated weight must be honest. Estimates are confirmed at inspection.
• Bank details must belong to the farmer, or to the rep only where the farmer has agreed and has no account. Sales paid to a rep are labelled.
• The rep must pass each farmer's share on in full where they receive it on the farmer's behalf.

• Buyers set a price per kg of live weight. The price at the time an inspection is requested is the price for that sale.
• The buyer's team inspects and weighs the animals at the community. The buyer may decline any animal at inspection.
• The amount due is the total weight of the accepted animals multiplied by that price, as recorded at inspection.
• Buyers must attend inspections they book, or cancel in advance. Reps must have the listed animals available.

• The buyer pays through Paystack before the animals leave the community, and pays only for the animals: FarmDirect covers Paystack's processing fee.
• Each farmer's share is sent to their account by Paystack on Paystack's settlement schedule.
• FarmDirect keeps 5% of each completed sale. Listing, offers and inspections are free.
• Refunds are covered by our refund policy.

• The buyer collects the animals and pays for transport.
• Animals remain the farmers' responsibility until they are handed to the buyer, and the buyer's responsibility after collection.

Either side can report a problem with an inspection, such as a buyer who did not arrive or animals that did not match their listing. We review reports and may suspend accounts that waste other users' time or act dishonestly.

We work to keep FarmDirect accurate and available but cannot guarantee it will always be. We are not responsible for the condition, health or quantity of animals, for what happens to them after collection, or for losses caused by information users give us. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Nigerian law.

We may update these terms and will show the date of the latest version on this page. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
